“That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.” (Romans 1:12)
To encourage is to “put your heart into it.” In today’s Scripture passage, Paul speaks of mutual encouragement and the bolstering of each other’s faith in Christ. Thisreinforces Paul’s message for like-minded believers. We can build up and mutually encourage one another in the Truth of God’s Word and learn how to apply those Truths to our daily lives.
Everyone needs encouragement. Bible scholars and everyday Christians alike face difficult situations and make mistakes frequently. Remaining at the Foot of the Cross is the best “status-leveler.” We develop mutual respect when we come alongside one another in love and encourage each other to remain steadfast after disappointments or setbacks.
Put Your Heart into Someone Today!
Every moment with a fellow believer is an opportunity for shared encouragement so, select someone you can put heart into today! Talk about The Lord at meals, during coffee breaks, on hikes or walks—any place where you meet and greet. When needed, offer a shoulder to cry on or ask for one as well.
How are you displaying and sharing encouragement with other believers?
Prayer: Heavenly Father show me how to put my heart into someone today by offering support and encouragement.
