“If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:10)
When we say that we have not sinned, then we are going against God’s Holy Word. If we don’t agree with every word that the Bible says, then we say that God made a mistake, or that He has given us only part of the truth and part is untruth. Our God, My God, must be completely Holy, all Truth; or not God at all
Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” There is only one “except” in this “all” – and He is the One who paid for all our sins. Hebrews 4:15 says:
“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”
It is a strange thing to us (humanity) to accept the whole truth, because we do not want to start in the position of humility or an even lower level. We must first acknowledge that we are lost before we can be found, and then allow the One who has found us to deliver us.
But His Word is in us because we have received and believe “The Full Gospel.”
If there were no one who was guilty of sin, then there would have been no reason for Jesus to die on Calvary’s Cross.
If Jesus’ life, death, burial, and resurrection had not been written in His Word, and the purpose of these things been revealed unto us by the Holy Spirit of God; then His Word would not be in us as an Anchor of the Soul.
But we have this hope in us. Hebrews 6:19 says, “Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast…”
The Hope that we have in us, in His Word, lets us know the Promise that He has made in His Word will come to pass. My belief is that His Promise has already come to pass. He said it, so that settles it for me!!!
Even though there have been few times that I had to go to the hospital while growing up in my life; God is still showing me and delivering me from some spiritual, moral short-comings. And I thank God for Him doing so. I thank God for doing so daily. It lets me know that His Word is in me. I pray that it is in you as well.
