Praise God, when He converts His Children, He has a plan to teach them His Ways, and their duties, and how they are to carry out these God-appointed duties. Plus, praise His Holy Name, He has given them the Power living within each regenerated spirit to walk in the Victory of Christ as an overcomer.
Praise God, our calling is not according to our status in life, or in our position – but is according to His Eternal Purpose in Christ (1 Corinthians 1:24-31; Ephesians 1:4-12; 2:8-9; 2 Timothy 2:1-10; Titus 3:5).
Praise God, our ability to carry out His Commandments is lodged in Himself:
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13)
Therefore, Paul says:
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13)
There has been no greater time in the history of man that God’s chosen People, His Peculiar People, the Royal Priesthood, the Holy Nation, the Church of the Living God, His Temple on earth, the Bride of Christ, even His Body, those called out of darkness into His Marvelous Light – should:
“Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;” (1 Peter 2:11)
“Having your conversation (or manner of behavior) honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” (1 Peter 2:12)
“Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;” (1 Peter 2:13)
“Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.” (1 Peter 2:14)
“For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:” (1 Peter 2:15)
“As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.” (1 Peter 2:16)
“Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.” (1 Peter 2:17)
“Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.” (1 Peter 2:18)
“For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.” (1 Peter 2:19)
“For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.” (1 Peter 2:20)
“For even hereunto were ye called…” (1 Peter 2:21a)
We need to be doers of God’s Word. Now, more than ever before, we need to:
“For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:” (1 Peter 2:15)
We need to:
“Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.” (1 Corinthians 7:20)
“Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.” (1 Corinthians 7:21)
“For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant.” (1 Corinthians 7:22)
“Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.” (1 Corinthians 7:23)
“Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.” (1 Corinthians 7:24)
For we are the Lord’s freeman, we are Christ’s servants, and “therein abide with God.” Here is the secret of success in His Calling. Not where your position is with men in your vocation or profession – but whether you “abide” in Christ or not (John 15:6-10).
Therefore, Called People of God, stand up for Christ’s Sake. Be doers of God’s Word, even if you are in the Backseat, as society looks at you. Be faithful in everything for Christ’s Sake.
