There are many arguments put forth by the Christian, but these arguments cannot be proven by logic or reason. For at the end of the day of theory, facts, etc.; God cannot be proven. The foundation that there is a God is spiritual; and only spiritually-minded people discern that foundation.
The Christians says, “But the Bible says…” The agnostic says, “This Bible is only a collection of sayings by over forty historians; it is only a figment of their imaginations.” Then the Christian says, “But look at the creation of all animate and inanimate objects, in the origin, design, order, and continuance.” But the agnostic says, “All of this is the result of evolution over millions of years.”
However, on the other side, the agnostic cannot prove that there is no God. All the opposition has are “facts” that are only theories when investigated. The evolutionist has no foundation for his view; only a hypothesis that cannot be proven.
So, where are we in this investigation? Where we are is that the Christian says there is a God, and has no need to prove there is. The agnostic says there is no God, and is always trying to prove there is no God, but can’t.
The Christian is at peace that there is a God because God abides (or dwells) in his spirit. The Christian is at peace because the Prince of Peace has given him an internal witness that he is a child of God, whereby he confesses, “Abba Father” (Romans 8:14-16; Galatians 4:5-6). Being at peace, resting in the adoption of God, which has placed him as a son of God; he says, I need no other proof than the witness of the Holy Spirit of His Peace, Joy, and Power to perform the Commandments of Christ. He is firmly persuaded that The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, God-breathed Word concerning the Revelation of Himself in the Person of Jesus Christ, God in the Flesh (2 Corinthians 4:6).
The Christian knows (by experience, through regeneration) that Jesus is The Christ (Isaiah 9:6-7); He is the sinner’s Substitute, Sacrifice, and Savior. He Reconciled him to God, Redeemed him from the curse and punishment of sin, and declared him Righteous in His Atonement on the Cross (Romans 3:24-25). Therefore, he experiences the production of the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23); which proves to him that he is God’s child and a vessel of mercy, of honor:
“And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory” (Romans 9:23).
When a person has peace with God through Christ (Romans 5:1-2), he feels no need to prove there is a God. He knows there is a God.
Then there is the fool who says, “There is no God.”
Which side are you on?
The Christian says, “Yes, praise God, I see The God, the only One True and Living God, My God; in the origin, design, order, and continuance of the animate and inanimate creation of the universe. I see my God in the ability of man to reason, to make choices based upon facts; even to be made as the dwelling place of the Spirit of Christ in the regenerated spirit. Thus having ability to discern spiritual things of God (1 Corinthians 2:9-16); even to have the mind of Christ. I see my God in the reproduction of the animate creature by itself of its own kind. I see my God in the design and order of the heavens. Who could say, there is no God, no Creator, no Designer, no Preserver of His Creation?”
The answer is, only a fool. Only fools try to prove there is no God.
