- A Godly Home: Introduction
- The Plan of a Godly Home
- The Procedure of a Godly Home
- The Purpose of a Godly Home
- The Practice of a Godly Home
- The Perception of a Godly Home
The end of the entire matter of a Godly Home is one of Perception of Truth. No human author; no good intentions of husband and wife; no course in human development; and no earthly-minded marriage counselor can open up the understanding of God’s Purpose and Design of a Godly Home and a Godly Marriage, and the harvest of His Blessing upon the same.
This revelation can come only from God (as does all revelation of Himself (John 3:27) and His Word). And this revelation is implanted only in those who have been Born Again, those who are Regenerated, those who have been made a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17).
The Regenerated are the only ones who have the ability to discern Truth (2 Corinthians 2:9-16); for they have the mind of Christ; for “The Faith” (or Christ) dwells in them, and in them alone, upon the New Birth (Romans 8:1-17; Galatians 2:20). You must be Born Again to “see” (to perceive) the Kingdom of God and to “enter into” (to have the power to perform in) the Kingdom of God (John 3:3-8.) Those who are drawn by God; taught of God; and learn of Him – will come to Christ:
“No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:44)
“It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.” (John 6:45)
However, the husband and wife who are Born-Again by the Spirit of God; those who have been give Faith; those who have the ability to hear and see – must then submit to the instructions of God, and obey these instructions concerning marriage and the home. Then, and then only, will they receive the Blessings of a Godly Marriage and a Godly Home; and also be a witness to others of Christ and His Church.
This work is only an introduction to God’s order and function of a Godly Home. It is submitted to the Reader to stimulate the study of, and encourage obedience to, God’s Instructions; which are for God’s Honor, and for the marriage’s good and edification and witness.
The incorrect order of the home, and the lack of submission and obedience of each spouse to God’s Instructions concerning the home, have resulted in barrenness of fruit in many Christian homes and marriages in today’s world. This barrenness has led to deception, divorce, and even destruction in an overwhelming and alarming number of Christian homes and marriages.
But the saddest result of all is the distorted view of the children in these barren marriages.
Children of many generations have grown up in the “fruitless” marriages of Christians; and the consequences have been lawlessness, sexual immorality, and total ignorance of the glorious Plan and Design that God has ordained in marriage. This hypocrisy has caused many of these children to have no regard for parents and for God. This hypocrisy has set in motion the unraveling of the bands that have held society together by the standards of these children that have now grown up and are living their lives in immorality, in rebellion to authority, and with no regard for the Judgment of God.
This author believes for any nation to endure for any lengthy duration, there must be the Preserving of the Home and the Practice of the Principles of God concerning the Home, which begin with the order, peace, and holiness of the husband and wife.
If there is to be any blessing of God on this nation; we, as a nation, must return to Bethel, confess our sins, destroy our idols, and return to God’s Word concerning the Home. Because the fundamental block (the home) has been compromised and weakened to the point that the building is in great danger of collapse.
The homes of many Christians today, the salt of the earth, are not the salt of the earth; because they are not full of truth, but full of deception. They are full of deeds of sin, divorce, and destruction. The salt has lost its savour; therefore it is good for nothing:
“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” (Matthew 5:13)
The home is no more the tie that binds, but has become the tide that kills:
“Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour…” (Ecclesiastes 10:1a)
…for the corrupt home has become:
“…death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.” (2 Kings 4:40)
