“I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting” (1 Timothy 2:8)
Let us lift up “holy hands, without wrath and doubting,” and praise His Holy Name for giving us another day to enjoy Him and His Salvation, as we live His life in our life (Romans 5:10, 17). As the Psalmist said in Psalms 118:24b “… we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Notice this is not “if” or “maybe,” but “we will rejoice”; this leaves no doubt as to whether we will rejoice or not, for “we will rejoice…”
Why will we rejoice? Because God lives in us; it is our nature as Born-Again Children of God. As Peter explains:
“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” (2 Peter 1:3)
“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (2 Peter 1:4)
As God gives us more and more knowledge of Himself through the Promises given to us, we are revealed more and more of His Divine Nature, of which we are partakers, through Regeneration by the Spirit. So, the more knowledge of Him we receive, the more praise we utter to Him. “We will rejoice” because we are “in Him” and He is “in us.” Our praise is not optional; nor do we as His Children, in possession of the Spirit, desire to decline to praise Him. But instead we long to praise Him – early in the morning, at noon, and in the evening. We desire to praise Him – for Who He is, and for who He has made us to be “in Him”! Hallelujah! Therefore, it is our joy and desire to “rejoice and be glad in it.” (In what? in the day that He has made.)
We should be so conscious of how blessed we are to be His and for Him to be ours. Also, that we have health and a sound mind; and that we not have the spirit of bondage, but of freedom in Christ.
God is reminding us that each day is a gift. Not only a gift, but an opportunity given to us to praise Him for all things and to manifest His Love in us as His Children on earth.
He is making us so aware that He is the Creator, Controller, and Consummator; the Alpha and Omega; the Beginning and the End; the One who was dead and is now alive for evermore; the One who holds the keys of hell and death. We know He Created us; He Designed us; and He is the Power in us to carry out His Will and Purpose through us. He holds our breath; He holds our life. He holds our future, as well as our past.
God created us to praise Him, and to enjoy Him, and to enjoy His Creation.
