“The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.” (Psalms 29:3)
Many times we take our blessings for granted. Some valley or trial has to come into our lives to make us stop and know that He is God, who holds our very breath in His will. How important are the sun, the moon, and the stars; the vegetation, the bird kingdom, and the animal kingdom; even the rain and the snow?
I love God’s beautiful creation. I love to be outdoors to admire His gracious blessings of color in the grass, sky, trees, etc. I feel so close to God when I am outdoors; I stop many times to simply say “Thank You, God.” Let all creation praise its Creator – God.
“Thank You God, that You did not place us on a barren planet, with no color or plant life. Thank You God for the frost, the snow, the rain; and yes, even the thunderstorm, when we can hear Your voice. Thank you God for planting the seeds of praise in me for Your beautiful creation. God, how can any say, ‘There is no God,’ when you are revealed so plainly in your creation?”
I love to commune with Jehovah when I am outdoors; I can see His Purpose to make our earth so beautiful, that we praise Him for it all. Look at the intricacy of the rose, or any of God’s flowers. Yes, God has clothed His Creation with the beautiful flowers and their fragrances. Oh, what a great God we serve. “Thank You God for making our surroundings so beautiful and pleasant to our senses.”
Picture a meadow in the springtime; giant daises are waving to greet us as the wind blows across their faces. It is as if they are saying, “Welcome to your new life in Christ. Walk, run, and rejoice in this field of rewards of the resurrection, which our faces reveal.”
Now see a beautiful mountain stream, full of clean, fresh, cold water flowing from the snow melting in the heat of spring from the mountains in the background. Stand still and listen to the language of the water flowing and swirling around the huge boulders in the midst of the creek. Listen very carefully, and we may hear, “Yes, you have been given the Water of Life. Rejoice in it; drink until you are full and your thirst is satisfied. Walk in it, enjoy the blessings thereof. Swim in it, float in it. Children of Mine, you are sealed in my love forever and ever. Now, come very close and see your reflection in the mirror in the Water of Life and you will see My new product I have conformed you into.”
Next, drive to the highest peak of those mountains in the background. We will stand awestruck at the view from the top. Feel the bite of the cold on our cheeks; feel the brisk wind blowing our hair. God allows a cloud to surround us; we feel the wet mist coat our faces. And then His breeze blows the cloud away, and the beautiful rays of the great Light in the sky warm us again. We don’t even know how long we stand at the very peak and lift our hands in praise to our God for all His beautiful creation; for the love He has put in us; for the blessings He has given us.
We praise Him for allowing us to hear His voice in the water, in the thunder, and in the small still voice of the breeze in the flowers; in all of His creation. We praise Him for giving us the ability to hear the Voice of the Lord.
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalms 118:24)
