“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.” (Isaiah 54:17)
The primary reference of our text verse is for Israel. However, it may apply to all of those in His Body, the Church, the True Israel of God (Galatians 6:16). There are several points for us, as children of God, to note today.
First, weapons may form against us. But, our second point is that these weapons shall not prosper. And third, even the tongues (Acts 6:9-15) “that shall rise against thee in judgment thou (the child of God) shalt condemn.”
These weapons that shall rise up against us are almost endless; so trying to identify them all is futile. But the real message is this:
We have victory in Christ!
Why? Because this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord.
Why? Because He decreed it to be this way.
Why? Because it so pleased God to reveal that there is no God beside Him; and that all those that are covered in His Righteousness are in His Victory. “…and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.” (Read Isaiah 45:24-25; 59:19; 1 John 5:4.)
Christ proved in His Resurrection that He had all power in heaven and in earth (Matthew 28:18; Romans 1:4). He proved that He defeated the devil and death (Hebrews 2:14). Then Paul reveals to us in Romans (6:1-23; 7:24-25; 8:1-16), that we were participants in His Death, Burial, and Resurrection (which is Judicial Justification). In the Baptism of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13), we are then given Experiential Justification; raised in Him (in our spirits, experientially) to walk in the newness of life (Romans 6:4). (Read 1 Corinthians 15:1-57.)
Therefore, because we are clothed (covered) in His Righteousness; no weapon, no tongue, can prosper against us. Hallelujah!
What confuses the issue is, while we are suffering from the blows of the enemy, it is hard to see the final victory.
However, we do have the Witness of the Holy Spirit dwelling and abiding in us. Therefore, we know that the final victory is ours!
Even while we walk through the trial, the test; the three Hebrew men in the fiery furnace and also Daniel’s protection from the lions; prove that God is keeping us and protecting us, even in the fires of persecution. Amen and Amen!
So, let us keep our spirits focused upon Isaiah 54:17.
One more thought is found in Isaiah 54:16. God said, “Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.” You see, He created them, so they are subservient to God, their Creator. They can only go as far as God’s Purpose allows them to go, and no further. (Read Job 1, 2, 3, etc.)
So, our enemies are created and controlled by God for His Purpose. But they will never win; because God promised they would never win. That should encourage us and lift us up; that no matter what our enemies throw at us, they can’t win. They are only instruments in God’s hand; used of God to prove us, purify us, and perfect us!
Have a Great Day in the Lord, knowing that, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31b).
